WIN! Bespoke Stationery with Dimitria Jordan

by: Dimitria Jordan Luxury Wedding Stationery

You’re engaged (Congratulations!) and it’s now time to start the planning...but where do you start? The most important aspects to sort out first are your budget, date, venue and guest list.

Once these details have been finalised, it’s time to let your guests know. Save the dates are perfect for informing guests well in advance, and especially for bank holidays, summer or destination weddings.

Your wedding stationery will reflect the style of your special day and is the first glimpse your guests get to see of it. Whether it’s classic, rustic or fun, here are five themes to get you started. I hope they inspire you!

Kraft card, twine, naked cakes, burlap, bunting and fun and vintage decorations will all be part of a rustic wedding theme. Rustic themes work any time of year, here or abroad, and in any style of venue making it very versatile. Any colour theme also works well, whether it’s pretty pastels, dark colours, or fun brights...the possibilities are endless!

A pretty watercolour wedding theme can be included into your day in various ways. Maybe as subtle details, such as a border, or as the main design element, such as a background. Watercolour themes especially suit a summer destination wedding.

There are many ways a floral wedding theme can be integrated in your stationery to suit your theme. Vintage floral illustrations, for example, could be used for a classic and elegant theme. Used with a stripe achieves an elegant but modern look. Changing floral illustrations to your colour theme marries both elements in a stylish way too.

Patterns are a great way to add depth to your stationery, and can be as loud or as subtle as you like. You could have the front plain, with the pattern on the back, for example. The pattern could be in your colour palette, and it is a lovely way to showcase your theme in a visual way. A geometric pattern, for example, evokes a luxe art deco feel, whilst still looking classic. A monochrome wedding stationery set would work well with patterns, and a coloured envelope could add a chic touch!

METALLIC (my favourite!)

Metallics; whether as part of your wedding stationery, venue decoration or as subtle details adds sparkle, and a sense of luxury to your wedding. Metallics could be in the form of glitter (such as a candle votive for your table setting), sequins (such as a tablecloth) or as gold foil, which was used in a recent bespoke wedding invitation commission we worked on where the couples names and silhouettes were gold pretty!
