Top Ten Tips for Mother’s of the Bride and Groom!

by: Ian Stuart

- Wearing a hat is not a formality anymore. If you want to just do fab hair- just do fab hair!

- Avoid clashing with flowers and bridesmaids. Work with the colour story, two shades darker or lighter than the main colour looks stunning in photos.

- Don’t want to wear colour? Silver and cream work with everything!

- If it’s sunny pack a big fab pair of sunglasses, they look amazing in photography.

- If it’s cool, take a (fake!) fur shrug for the outside pictures, so so glamourous.

- In between sizes? Always go a size bigger and have it taken in, never go too small for it to be taken out, the final result will be far more beautiful.
- Asymmetric draping works wonders for curvy shapes. Draping masks lumps and bumps, and asymmetry draws the eye down instead of across, creating the illusion of more length and a slimmer figure.

- Try an unconventional shape. A 50’s silhouette is not your typical MOB shape, but it’s fun, flirtatious and looks amazing when dancing!

- Don’t cut corners on your alterations, good tailoring is more slimming than a crash diet. Always go with your boutiques recommended seamstress.

- Finally, increase your wear ability and look for a dress you can rock again for a cocktail party or lavish dinner, and a fab wrap or jacket you can wear with white jeans on holiday.
